FNINR Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary!

FNINR CELEBRATES ITS 30TH ANNIVERSARY!

The Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research (FNINR) is an independent, non-profit organization founded in 1993. FNINR’s mission is to strengthen and magnify the impact of the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) in the advancement of nursing science.

To celebrate our anniversary, FNINR would like to honor the individuals who have helped shape the organization through donations, volunteering, and support over the past 30 years, including our current and past presidents (listed below); without all these individuals we wouldn’t be where we are today.

We are honored by the nursing community’s support of our mission and purpose as an organization. Through their support, FNINR has been able to create multiple programs and initiatives in an effort to extend that support to NINR. Some examples from over the years include:

  • 2017: FNINR became a full voting member of the Nursing Community Coalition and the “Be a Friend” program was launched.
  • 2014: The FNINR Ambassador program launched, and the first cohort of ambassadors was selected.
  • 2006: FNINR funded a Congressional Luncheon Briefing focusing on innovations in technology.
  • 2005: FNINR provided funding support to NINR for their Scientific Symposium, “Nursing Research: Changing Practice, Changing Lives.”
  • 2002: FNINR presented NINR with a $35,000 check for the NINR Gift Fund.
